Over the years many of our guests have discovered the joy and beauty of bicycling at The Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Whether you seldom ride or try to make it a regular part of your life, you'll find a wide variety of terrain and route options right from your door. The quiet roads and beautiful scenery make for wonderful riding. While most people choose a well-mapped, self-guided trip on the local back roads, more challenging off-road trails are right here too. We have some technical single track and double wide grassy ski trails right on site. The area is a favorite with road riders too. Little traffic and great views make for some of the best road riding around.

The Northeast Kingdom of Vermont is one of the very first Geotourism Areas in the world, specially designated by National Geographic. It has long been a mecca for a wide variety of outdoor recreation from hunting and fishing to skiing and hiking. But it also offers a world class venue for all types of endurance sports such as running, biking, swimming, kayaking, and skating. A series of running, biking and swimming events was started in 2007 in an effort to support IROC, our community’s indoor pool, multi-purpose sports arena, and recreation center. When that facility closed in 2013, Kingdom Games was formed to continue and expand these outdoor events. Kingdom Games now offers over 30 days of running, biking, swimming, triathlon, kayaking, Nordic skating, pond hockey, speedskating and winter swimming events in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the Eastern Townships of Quebec.
